This two-part course follows the trajectory of contemporary art from the mid-20th century to the present. The course begins with an overview of contemporary art and selected artists and then moves to the aftermath of Modernism, and late-twentieth century trends in painting, photography, sculpture and installation. Social, political and other artistic genres (such as literature, music and film) are taken into consideration when discussing the art. Course includes lectures, discussion, as well as hands-on art projects. To obtain a good grasp of the subject matter, it is important to have the textbook. Suitable for all levels.
