Biography
Regan Shrumm is a visual and social practice artist and a curator, who has been living on Lekwungen territory for the last eleven years. Shrumm received their MA in Art History and Visual Studies from the University of Victoria. Shrumm's focus is using embroidery and textile to inspect aspects of their family history and trauma. Their work also incorporates building community through non-traditional art practices in order to create spaces for learning and growing. Shrumm has received grants for their projects through the BC Arts Council and the Capital Regional District. They have been in residency through the Salt Spring Arts Council on Salt Spring Island, BC and through the Micro Community Living in Victoria, BC.
