Biography
Amina Ejaz is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Art History and Visual Studies at the
University of Victoria in Canada, specializing in contemporary Pakistani art history. Her
research interests encompass a range of topics related to postcolonial theory, activism, and
feminism in Pakistan. She is also interested in the politics of archives, the decolonization
process of colonial art schools, and recentering art history teachings. Amina completed her
Master’s degree at the University of Edinburgh in Art History (Theory and Display), before
joining the National College of Arts, Lahore as an Assistant Professor in the Cultural Studies
Department in 2015. At the National College of Arts, she has taught undergraduate Art
History courses and graduate-level courses on South Asian Visual Culture.
