General supplies:
Rags, paper towels
Vine or willow charcoal
One #12 “bright” brush, or similar: Hog Bristle for oil, or a stiff synthetic for acrylic
One 1”-wide soft-bristle synthetic brush
One round pointed brush for linear work and small details
Bring any brushes you already have from home
If using oil: Odourless mineral spirits (Ecohouse or similar) Note: NO orange or citrus scent please;

Oil or acrylic paint:

Feel free to use your usual palette. The following is a list of recommended paints:

Cool Red: Alizarin Crimson (genuine or hue), Permanent Crimson or Quinacridone Magenta
Warm Red: Cadmium Red Medium (genuine or hue)
Cool Blue: Phthalo Blue (green shade) or Prussian Blue
Warm Blue: Ultramarine Blue or French Ultramarine
Cool Yellow: Lemon Yellow (or equivalent—should say PY3 on the tube)
Warm Yellow: Cadmium Yellow Medium (genuine or hue)

Phthalo Green
Dioxazine Purple
Pyrolle or Cadmium Orange (or any mono-pigment orange)

Earth Tones:
Burnt Sienna
Burnt Umber
Yellow Ochre

Titanium, or Titanium/Zinc

Mars, Carbon, or Ivory/Bone Black

We will generally need one or two small or medium-sized surfaces to paint on each day. Stretched, primed canvas, canvas paper, gessoed wood panel, gessoed mat board are acceptable.
