PROGRAMS
The Vancouver Island School of Art currently offers three programs: Certificate of Visual Arts (one year full-time or a maximum of four years part-time) and a Diploma of Fine Arts (three years full-time or a maximum of five years part-time) and Independent Studio Program (ISP) (one year full-time). Students can be enrolled in a program on a full-time or part-time basis. In addition, if students choose not to enroll in a program right away and to take courses or workshops outside of a program, the hours accumulated can be put towards a program at a later date.
As of September 2010, students will also be able to enroll in a Diploma of Visual Arts and Graphic Design offered by the Pacific Design Academy. This program involves one year of full-time studies at VISA (Certificate of Visual Arts) and two years of graphic design courses at the Pacific Design Academy.
The Vancouver Island School of Art is Accredited with the Private Career Training Institute Association (PCTIA).
